Because of State budget funding cuts to public schools, Berkeley Adult School has implemented a new fee structure:
•
ESL and
high school/GED/basic education classes now have a
$30/semester registration processing fee for an unlimited number of classes. There is still no class tuition fee.

Off-site older adult classes now have a
$30/semester registration processing fee. There is still no class tuition fee. (Some of the off-site locations charge a separate facility usage fee of their own.)
•
Career Tech Ed classes (computers, some health career classes, other career training) have a variety of fees depending on the number of hours and meetings. Check the individual listings for details.
•
Fee-based classes (Saturday workshops, foreign languages, dance, traffic school) have had a fee increase to cover increased costs, since there is no state support.

Which Method to Use?
• Off-site programs (Life-Long Learning, Adults with Disabilities): Registration can be completed at the class location, or by mail. Payment by check or money order only. (Off-site non-refundable registration fee is $30.)
• Career Tech Ed (computer classes, career prep, accounting): Any method below.
• Fee-based classes (dance and languages): Any method below except phone-in.
• Traffic school, ESL, GED, High School Diploma, most health industry programs: All require in-person registration because of additional requirements like ID check, testing, or orientation.
• First Aid/CPR: Any method below.
1. Online with a credit card • Easiest and fastest method
Most career, technical, and fee-based classes (links at top and bottom of this page) have online registration available. There are a few off-site classes available for this method.
Please note: If you are on a PC with Windows operating system, Firefox may not work properly for online registration. Use Internet Explorer instead.
2. By Phone for Some Classes (Wednesday-Friday, August 18-20 ONLY)
Phone registration is available only during the above days and hours for Career Technical Education classes for Fall 2010 sessions. Telephone: 510.644.6130. Have your credit card information handy.
3. In Person
Visit the office during regular office hours at 1701 San Pablo Ave, between Franicsco and Virginia in Berkeley. Here's a map. You may use a check (not for more than $85), credit card, money order.
4. By Mail
Mail in a registration form picked up in the school office, or print out a form downloaded from this page. Fill in and mail with check (not for more than $85), or credit card (Visa/MasterCard) number, expiration date, and your signature. No cash please! Mail to:

5. By FAX
Download a registration form, and fax to 510.644.6784. Include credit card number (Visa/MasterCard), expiration date, and your signature.

There will be a service charge of $25 on all checks which fail to clear through your bank.
