Students will learn the practical applications of math skills in work-related settings and solve common business problems involving ratios and percentages, discounts, payroll and depreciation, loans and interest, markups, and inventory. Required for the BAS Accounting Clerk certificate.

Personal Health & Movement

CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION/CPR & AED and FIRST AID - Patterson
Enrollment limited to 12 students. This course will provide you with the life saving skills in an emergency for adults, children and infants. You will learn CPR, AED use, first aid and medical emergency skills. This course will give you the confidence to handle most emergency situations as a first responder. All participants will receive a two-year CPR/AED/FA card from Medic First Aid as well as a student handbook. Must understand and read English.

FINDING THE POWER OF SOLITUDE: DISCONNECT AND RE-DISCOVER YOURSELF! - Saulsby / Wood
Solitude is a lost art in these times of ultra-connectedness. Modern communication wizardry has its place, but we can end up being servants to it. Most of us find it difficult to disconnect, yet for the sake of the soul we need to learn to seek and enjoy solitude.

Come learn about the neurological impacts of technology usage on the brain and its effects on creativity, the key characteristics of being at the top of your game, and utilizing solitude to achieve personal and professional goals. Class includes both writing and meditative exercises that will help sustain the practice of creative introspection.

YAMUNA BODY ROLLING WORKSHOP - Spector
Learn techniques to overcome carpal tunnel, upper body stiffness, and shoulder pain using the work of a master teacher and visionary Yamuna Zake. Each monthly Saturday workshop will introduce an overview of different aspects of Yamuna theory and methods of therapeutic self-care. Confused by the icons on your digital camera? Not sure how to upload, email or edit images? We’ll cover the basics of digital photography for point & shoot cameras. Learn about the standard features on most cameras, tips for better images, how to organize, edit and share images with others. The freeware Picasa will be taught and used in this class.

DIGITAL CAMERA BASICS II - Younger
Know how to take an automatic picture with your digital camera, download it and email it to friends? Now that you know how to use the camera in Auto, come learn about the other manual features of your camera and how to get the best shot. This class is ideal for DSLR camera users or more advanced point & shoot cameras.

Prerequisites: Digital Camera Basics or the ability to download, edit and email your photos and shooting in Auto Mode. Some experience with Picasa photo editing software or its equivalent is essential. Students should bring their digital camera with manual, USB cable and notebook to each class. Be sure your camera batteries are charged and you have a blank memory card too.
