WRITING/SPEAKING/TELEPHONING IN A MULTICULTURAL BUSINESS - Green Students from many cultures will compare business communication in the U.S. and other countries. Topics: email, memos, letters, telephones, speaking in meetings, polite behavior. ESL students must be at intermediate level or higher. Nine–week program. Certificate offered. Note: Class moved to Room 208 until further notice.
TYPING TEST $20 Keyboarding certificates and/or Proficiency Rating Letter are available for a $20 Typing Test fee. Typing Tests are given during the Business Computer Applications class. Note: No typing tests are offered in the first week of a term, or during the first hour of a class. BUSINESS FOR CREATIVES - Bohbot / Silverberg Learn how to market artwork in the fine art or commercial art environments. Topics to be covered include setting up a business, copyrights, contracts, taxes, pricing, negotiations, presentation, and inter-personal public speaking.
HOW TO LAND A GOOD JOB IN A BAD MARKET - Nemko The standard job-search techniques are not working well in today's job market. This class taught by Marty Nemko, whom the Bay Guardian called "The Bay Area's Best Career Coach," will present the strategies that are worked best for his clients in 2012 and invite class members to describe their situations so he can provide custom solutions for them; these are also of value to other class members. Mr. Nemko brings 26 years experience as a career coach and almost a quarter century of hosting the hour-long radio show, Work with Marty Nemko.
