DRAWING AND ILLUSTRATION From drawing basics, the figure, the face and shading, expression, and perspective to sophisticated illustration techniques. You'll learn to sketch and tap into your creative ability by using design and visual awareness. 3 sessions each, based on six students.
GRAPHIC NOVEL Saturday morning workshop. Basics of drawing and illustrating a graphic novel, including interaction between text and illustrations, and a brief overview of the history of the graphic novel. Fee based on six students.
MOSAICS FOR THE HOME AND GARDEN Learn to use thinset cement, mastic, grout, and silicone for innovative instillations of 2- or 3-D projects. Complete a broken tile/keepsakes project. Slide lecture, demonstrations and use of tools included. Additional materials fee ($20) paid to instructor at first class meeting.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY 101 Are you confused by the bells and whistles on your new digital camera? Whether you are new to photography or have been shooting for awhile, this class is for you. Gain greater control over the photographic tools of trade (lenses, f stops, shutter speeds, ISO, depth of field & white balance). Discover the use of histograms, the relevance of resolution and impact of simple design concepts on your images. Through lectures, assignments and supportive feedback, you will dramatically improve the quality of your photos and have fun in the process. Bring your digital camera (and the manual) to the first class.
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY 102 Continuation of Digital Photography 101. Lighting principles, flash photography, creative ways to use exposure, correcting color problems or create color effects, custom settings and advanced operations.
PHOTOGRAPHING PEOPLE Techniques for environmental and group portraiture and on-location work, as well as methods for working in more formal situations. Bring your digital camera (and the manual) to class & be prepared to photograph your fellow students on campus as you practice techniques demonstarted in the lecture.
